Critical
situation in Los Angeles
On
Monday (4/jan), the American press reported that
ambulances in Los Angeles, the second largest city
in the USA, were instructed not to transport
patients who have little chance of survival.
According to the Los Angeles Times, this is due to
a lack of oxygen in the region's hospitals due to
the overcrowding of patients with Covid-19.
The
California government estimates that the situation
will worsen in the coming days, reflecting the
spread of the coronavirus at the holiday season.
The presence of the new variant B.1.1.1.7, which
scientists say is more transmissible, raises
concern.
